LeChase Hall

LeChase Hall provides space for all of Warner’s programs, faculty, staff, and its graduate students. A four-story, 65,000-square-foot facility—with the upper three floors unified by a three-story atrium named in honor of Robin and Timothy Wentworth—LeChase Hall includes 14 classrooms.

LeChase Hall also includes the Genrich-Rusling Room, the Palladoro Methods Classroom, the Miller Technology and Research Lab, specialized classrooms and faculty and staff offices, as well as several meeting rooms and common spaces designed to support the preparation and development of educators and to conduct educational research and reform work.

Designed by architectural firm Bergmann Associates of Rochester in collaboration with SHW Group, a Michigan firm with extensive background in designing creative learning environments, and constructed by LeChase Construction Services, LLC, the building meets Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design silver standards. LeChase Hall also meets Americans with Disabilities Act standards and incorporates many design principles that exceed the standards and allow direct access to the most frequently trafficked classroom area of the building.

LeChase Hall officially opened its doors January 2013, on the 20th anniversary of the naming of the Warner School of Education and Human Development. The project got under way in spring 2011, thanks to a $3.5 million commitment from R. Wayne LeChase and his wife, Beverly. Raymond LeChase was the father of University Trustee R. Wayne LeChase, a pioneer in the Rochester construction industry and a noted philanthropist and supporter of education. Other major contributors included Timothy and Robin Wentworh, Sandra Parker, and Herbert Miller, and support from the estate of William F. Scandling and Margaret Warner Scandling.
