Biography

Nathan Harris completed his doctorate from the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at the University of Michigan, where he was recognized campus-wide as an Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor.

His research interests explore the challenges of university leadership and governance through the conceptual lens of organization theory. His research has been featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education on numerous occasions, including his analysis of a scandal at the University of Illinois over favoritism in admissions. His dissertation examines how deans at a prominent research university shaped academic priorities during the annual budget review.

Prior to his graduate study, Harris worked as a senior analyst at The Corporate Executive Board in Washington, D.C. and a special assistant at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
