Getting Started and Support

Technical Requirements
Students should have a current computer (new within the last two years) with audio and video camera capabilities. Reliable and robust internet access is also required.

Technical Support
If you have technical difficulty or need technical support, you can contact Kris Mager at (585) 273-4564 during the day or in the evening or on weekends at kmager@warner.rochester.edu.

Blackboard
Online courses in the Warner School use Blackboard. General information about Blackboard for students is available here: www.rochester.edu/online-learning/student_support/.

Online Presence
Create an Avatar for your Blackboard account. Use any small image (150 x 150) and follow these instructions: www.rochester.edu/blackboard/avatars.html. This avatar will appear on discussion boards and other Blackboard tools.

Web Conferencing
Synchronous class sessions in the Warner School are based on ZOOM. It is highly recommended that you verify your system configuration for use with ZOOM and test it before your first online session.

We expect this to be very easy to use, but if you have any difficulty, please refer to the resources on the University of Rochester web site for ZOOM - http://tech.rochester.edu/services/zoom/.
