Wednesday, February 9, 2011
12:00 noon
 B-315 Dewey Hall

Presented by Judy Kiyama & Donna Harris, & their Ibero-American Research Team

The focus of this presentation will be an action-oriented discussion based the findings and recommendations from the study: School Experiences of Latina/o Students in Rochester, NY: A Community-Based Study of Resources, Challenges, and Successes. In 2008, the Ibero-American Action League commissioned a mixed-methods, community-based study to focus on the persistent and dismal outcomes of a disproportionate number of Latina/o students in the Rochester city schools. The study sought to understand and address Latina/o educational attainment and attrition in the Rochester City School District. This session will highlight findings from the study and specifically address key recommendations that have been made to the community and the RCSD.
