Educational Innovations as Entrepreneurship: Reconstructing the Creation of Horizons at Warner

Wednesday, November 17, 2010
12-1:00 p.m.
B-315 Dewey Hall

Presented by Dean Raffaella Borasi

Warner prepares "agents of change" able to promote educational innovations, recognizing that initiating innovations and ensuring success is not easy. Educational change agents can benefit from learning more about how to go through this process effectively. Today we will share one of our most recent innovations, the summer 2010 creation of Horizons at Warner, a summer program for Rochester City School District students in partnership with the national Horizons organization. The founders of Warner program will be "interviewed" about developing this innovation using a protocol developed in the context of a previous research study and informed by concepts and findings from the field of entrepreneurship.
