Professional Development Luncheon

The Doctoral Student Experience: From the Trenches

Wednesday, October 20, 2010
 12:00 noon
 B-315 Dewey Hall

Presented by Advanced Doctoral Candidates and Recent Successful Defenders

The doctoral experience is both exciting and challenging – and some will argue is not one experience but several distinct experiences with major milestones like classes, comp exams, and the major pieces of the dissertation process. And the academic experience is not separated from the rest of your life. In this program 4-5 advanced or just completed doctoral student will share their experience and advice with both newer doctoral students and the other members of the Warner community attending. Attendees will be encouraged to share their advice and experiences with the process as community supporters. The luncheon will use the sharing luncheon program format, with smaller seating groups for discussion beyond the large group discussion.
