Teaching. Learning. Giving: A Lesson in Education, Health, and Sustainability in Makindye, Uganda

Presented by David Hursh, Ph.D.

David Hursh, associate professor at the Warner School, will discuss his teaching and engineering experience at the Circle of Peace School and his efforts to bring electricity and water to a primary school in Makindye, Uganda. He will share his reflections on the importance of raising the global standard of living and reducing global inequality. Hursh aims to expand his efforts to include health issues (such as waste, pollution, and HIV-AIDS), and will discuss how medical, graduate, and undergraduate students can become involved in this project in Uganda.
