Annual Conference on Transition: Campus-based Options for Students with Developmental Disabilities

Featured Speakers:
Janice Fialka, MSW, ACSW, is a nationally recognized author, lecturer, and trainer. She has presented in 25 states and in Canada for school districts, health care and human service agencies, parent groups, and national and state conferences on the topic of parent-professional partnership, inclusive education, and postsecondary education.

Micah Fialka is a National Board Member an KASA, Kids as Self Advocates. He has published articles and is a national speaker on inclusion and inclusive post secondary experiences.

Debra Hart, M.S., is the Project Director of College Career Connection, Institute on Community Inclusion, University of Massachusetts, Boston. Dr. Hart has over 20 years of experience working with children, youth, and adults with disabilities. Debra has directed over 20 federal and state projects.

The conference is open to college administrators, school and adult agency staff, parents, and young adults. (Professionals $45, Family members $25, Students/Young adults $15)

The Institute for Innovative Transition is a partnership of the Golisano Foundation and the University of Rochester’s Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities and the Warner School of Education. The Institute aims to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families as they transition from school age to adulthood. The Institute is housed at the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities, a division of Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong.
