McCain and Obama: Education and Economic Policy After the Election

No matter which presidential candidate wins the election, No Child Left Behind will either be reformed or eliminated when the new congress convenes in January. Furthermore, the current fiscal crisis calls into questions current policies emphasizing unregulated markets, competition, and privatization. In this present, Dr. David Hursh will suggest how the candidates approach education reform will be closely linked to their visions of our economic future; in particular where they continue Bush's neoliberal approaches or resurrect Franklin Delano Roosevelt's social-democratic liberal policies.
