Wednesday Lunch Hour: Testing Emerging Beliefs about the Digital Literacies of Indonesian Youth with the Warner Community (Zoom)

Wednesday, September 2, 2020
Noon - 1 pm

During the 2019-2020 academic year, Jayne Lammers, Associate Professor, Teaching and Curriculum, had a Fulbright U.S. Scholar grant to travel to Indonesia and reunite with her former advisee Puji Astuti '16W PHD. Together, they designed and implemented a mixed methods study exploring secondary students’ perceptions and practices of using technology for their interest-driven and school-based learning. In this lunch talk, Lammers will share developing insights from their on-going abductive analyses of data they generated through surveys and focus group discussions at seven junior and senior high schools in Central Java. Attendees will have an opportunity to shape the theories that Lammers and Astuti continue to develop from this work by providing feedback, acting as a “community of inquiry” (Tavory & Timmermans, 2014).
