Wednesday Lunch Conversation: Introducing Our New Book on Academic Literacy: Benefits for Graduate Students and Faculty

Wednesday, February 26, 2020
Noon
Genrich-Rusling Room, LeChase Hall 215

Academic literacy is a highly consequential ability for graduate student success. In this lunch talk, we will introduce the book we are currently writing, An A-W of Academic Literacy: A Reference Guide for Graduate Students, and highlight its benefits for students and faculty. The book will comprise around 75 alphabetically organized keyword entries covering a range of concepts, skills, genres, and practices. We will share sample entries to elicit participants’ feedback to inform our revisions.

Facilitated by Professor Mary Jane Curry and doctoral students Jihan Ayesh, Weijia Li, Fangzhi He, Ting Zhang, and Yanhong Zuo.

Warner will be providing pizza and salad. As always, you are welcome to bring your own bagged lunch. Food will be available starting at 11:45am. Please feel free to arrive early so we may start the talk promptly at noon. For disability-related accommodations, please contact Mary Judge Diegert at (585) 275-2454 or email mjudge@warner.rochester.edu.
