Wednesday Lunch Hour - Strategies for Identifying (and Attaining) Funding to Support Educational Research

Wednesday, March 13, 2019
Noon - 12:50 pm
Genrich-Rusling Room, LeChase 215

Securing funding for research is a topic faculty and doctoral students will likely grapple with throughout their academic careers. Identifying funding sources that align with research interests in an increasingly competitive funding landscape can be challenging, particularly with shifting priorities at the federal and state levels. Join us for a discussion on navigating some of these challenges, with suggestions for making your work stand out to funders. We will discuss review criteria, submission processes, and the various types of proposals requested by funders in education. Federal, state, and private/philanthropic funders will be explored, with strategies provided for seeking grants of all sizes.

Presented by Kara Finnigan, Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy, and Anne Sisk, Assistant Dean for Grants, we invite anyone who has an interest in funding educational research. We will provide some tools for identifying funding sources, tips to make your research projects fundable, and pointers for making your project rise above the competition.

A light lunch will be served. Food will be available at 11:45 am. The program will begin promptly at noon.

No need to RSVP. For any accommodation needs please contact Mary Judge at (585) 275-2454 or email at Mjudge@warner.rochester.edu.
