Summer Institute

Learning and Teaching Linear Functions: Video Cases for Mathematics Professional Development (Leadership)
August 9-11, 2005
Participants:
Anyone interested in /or teaching 6-12 mathematics
Cost: $300/participant *Fee is covered for participants from the University of Rochester MSP Project schools
Location: Twelve Corners Middle School, Brighton
Prerequisite: Participation in VCMPD

This institute will prepare participants to become facilitators of the Learning and Teaching Linear Functions: Video Cases for Mathematics Professional Development (VCMPD) professional development program developed by Nanette Seago, Judith Mumme, and Nicholas Branca. Participants will learn how to design a professional development program that makes use of this video-based resource to help teachers address some of the "problems of practice" in teaching algebra.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend this session with a colleague, as co-facilitation of VCMPD is encouraged.
