Wednesday Lunch Hour - A Cultural Connection: Demystifying Counseling Services: A Perspective from Chinese International Students

Wednesday, February 28, 2018
Noon - 12:50 pm
Genrich-Rusling Room, LeChase 215

Research indicates that international students are less likely to seek counseling than their American peers. What is counseling, to you? What does it mean to study counseling in the U.S. from a perspective of Chinese international students? What are some psychological challenges that many international students might face in the U.S.? Could counseling be an answer to tackle these challenges? Questions may not bring solutions, but they often help on looking through the mysteries to arrive at a new place.  We invite you to join our talk and discussion to demystify counseling, together.
Presenters are Warner School PhD students, Ken Zhaopu Xu and Penny Peng Wang.

A light lunch will be served. Food will be available at 11:45 am. The program will begin promptly at noon.
