NSBA Event to Showcase the Warner School's Partnership with East Irondequoit Around Digital Conversion

teacher working with students on digital devicesThe East Irondequoit Central School District (EICSD) has been chosen by the National School Boards Association (NSBA) as a 2017 Technology Leadership Site. On November 6 and 7, the district will host approximately 100 educators and school board members from around the country.

District teams will learn, among other things, about:  East Irondequoit's partnership with the Warner School around Digital Conversion; International Baccalaureate authorized at all grade levels; AVID program 6-12 (Middle School is an AVID national demonstration school); Robust pre-engineering program (Project Lead The Way); STEM and coding initiative; 21st century classroom and library redesign; and Digital Conversion (1:1 devices K-12).

In 2015, EICSD formed a partnership with the Warner School to promote the adoption of a digital conversion model in K-12 schools. The event will give educators a glimpse of Warner's programs in digitally-rich teaching in K-12 schools and the K-12 Digital Conversion Consortium that is centered at Warner.

EICSD has emerged as a leader in digital conversion in schools, becoming one of the first in the region to provide devices to every student in the district.  EICSD has been recognized in a number of national publications and is a member of the League of Innovative Schools, one of 93 districts across the nation working collaboratively to use their resources and knowledge to developing new approaches to teaching and improving outcomes.

EICSD is one of two districts nationwide selected to host a visit. Learn more about the NSBA event here or at: http://dc.eastiron.org/.
