Wednesday Lunch Hour - A Cultural Connection: Mukbang Taking Over the Lives of Young People in Korea. Is it a Phenomenon or an Entrepreneurial Activity?

Yu Jung Han, a new Warner Ph.D. student, has initiated research on Mukbang, a new practice that is going global. What is Mukbang? Who creates content and who consumes it? Afreecatv and YouTube are the major tools people are using. She will look at this trend and why it is becoming so popular in Korea. Participation in the discussion by the lunch hour participants will be welcome.

This session is presented by Yu Jung Han, a Warner School Ph.D. student in Teaching and Curriculum. She has ten years of international teaching experience, and has taught English in her native country of Korea, Japan and the United States.

A light lunch will be served. Food will be available at 11:45 am. The program starts promptly at noon.
