Wednesday Lunch Talk - Restorative Practices: A Better Way Forward

Wednesday, December 10, 2014
Noon - 1 p.m.
Genrich-Rusling Room, LeChase 215

Restorative practices are processes and strategies used in workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, congregations and the justice system to build, strengthen, and repair relationships. The restorative approach is an emerging inter-disciplinary field inspired by the philosophy and practices of restorative justice and is guided by the understanding that relationships are central to learning, growth, and a healthy community.  Instead of focusing on blame and doing things “to” people, restorative practices works “with” people to build problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills that result in better connections, less conflict, and a healthier community.

Presented by Jeanne Carlivati, Partners in Restorative Initiatives.

Light lunch served, starting at 11:45am.
