New Photo Gallery Honors Warner Faculty

The Warner School unveiled a new photo gallery to honor its professors emeriti and their achievements to the School’s history. Inspired by Professor Tyll van Geel’s recent retirement and his appreciation for the role of faculty in shaping the University and society, as well as Tyll’s love of history and photography, the Warner School is pleased to introduce the first set of photographs celebrating faculty who have served the University.

On display in Dewey Hall, first floor in the educational leadership wing, the new photo gallery features 25 professors who achieved emeritus status and/or whose service was significant. We will continue to research the School’s history and locate photos of faculty to add to the growing gallery.

Photos were provided courtesy of the Warner School’s Office of External Relations and the University of Rochester Library’s Department of Rare Books and Special Collections. A special thanks goes to the following people for their hard work in researching the University’s archives to begin this project: Danielle Ianni, Warner School doctoral student and external relations assistant; Nancy Martin, archivist; and Melissa Mead, digital/visual resources library.

Please stop by and celebrate the achievements of these renowned scholars and leaders who have played a significant role in shaping Warner’s history. If you would like to report omissions and corrections, please contact laura.brophy@rochester.edu.
