Special TUESDAY Lunch Talk - Listening to Autobiographical Narratives of Autism

This talk focuses on lessons from critical disability narratives, including resisting static understandings of disability, creating and finding contexts for experiencing competence, learning to recognize and resist normate narratives of disability, and honoring the experience of disability. 

Presented by Douglas P. Biklen, Professor of Cultural Foundations of Education and Teaching and Leadership, Faculty in Disability Studies and Director of the Facilitated Communication Institute at Syracuse University. He is the former Dean of the School of Education, Syracuse University.
