Within the past decade there has been an explosion of research supporting the use of mindfulness in a variety of contexts, including education, counseling, and medicine.  In this colloquium, the presenters will briefly define mindfulness, describe how they have implemented mindfulness-based activities into counseling training, and share preliminary results of their study examining the experiences of counseling students who participate in mindfulness-based activities.   They will also lead participants in a brief mindfulness activity.

Presented by Douglas Guiffrida, associate professor of counseling and human development, and Jason Duffy PHD '13W, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program in the School of Education at Syracuse University.
