Wednesday Lunch Talk - Connecting Research to Practice Through Professional Learning: Sharing Stories from the Field

In the Outreach Division of the Warner Center, we have a number of projects with local districts in the region – urban, suburban and rural.  We have used what we know about designing and implementing high quality professional development to develop professional development plans for district contracts.  These long-term plans, often multi-year, incorporate a variety of learning experiences for teachers with the goal of helping to translate research into practice and support teachers in the field to improve their practice.  We will share some of the different professional learning opportunities that we have created for teachers and administrators, particularly related to math and science instruction. Local teachers and instructional leaders will share and discuss the work from their perspective – sharing what the learning has meant to them in their work, as well as some of the success and challenges.

Presenters include
Cindy Callard, Stephanie Martin, Michael Occhino, Jane LaVoie, and local district administrators and teachers.
