Wednesday Lunch Talk — Beyond the Asterisk: Understanding Native American College Students

The asterisk in Beyond the Asterisk: Understanding Native American College Students refers to its use in quantitative reports and studies to eliminate Native American data due to small populations and samples.  Yet, Native student participation in higher education has increased, and for the first time ever, more are attending predominantly White institutions than tribal colleges. Few resources exist to inform higher education practitioners. Beyond the Asterisk, written by scholars and practitioners, offers chapters about students, programs, and administration to help higher education understand this nearly invisible population.

Presented by Stephanie Waterman, assistant professor, and co-editor of Beyond the Asterisk
