We welcome students from around the world to our diverse and intellectually challenging learning community of educators, mental health counselors and human development professionals.

More than 15% of Warner School students are international. More than 20 countries are represented at Warner including; China, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, India, and many more.

Application process

Applicants must have completed the equivalent of a U.S. four-year bachelor’s degree at either a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in their home country. The application process for international students requires additional steps regarding English proficiency and visa status.

International programs

The Warner School of Education offers international students serval master’s and doctoral (PhD or EdD) programs, as well as advanced certificates. One of our most popular programs specifically designed for international students is a master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Orientation

International orientation topics include adjusting to an American university, living in Rochester, policies, advising, academic and social resources, and other topics that will enrich the transition to the Warner School of Education. All new international students are required to attend an orientation session prior to their start at the University. View dates & details
