Christine N. Green directs the early childhood and childhood education programs in the teaching and curriculum department. She is passionate about supporting both current and future educators with developing theoretical and instructional practices that benefit all students. She was a practicing educator in the Rochester area for 16 years teaching elementary education, special education, and literacy. For the last three years, she has applied all those years of experience to design college courses for preservice and practicing educators in the areas of special education and literacy at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, Green has supported preservice educators during their field experiences and student teaching placements in area school districts through supervision and facilitating seminars. In 2018, she was an honorary inductee into a local chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi Educational Honor Society, based on the recommendation of her students.

Her research interests are centered on early literacy acquisition, digital literacy, multimodal learning, and teacher education. Green joined the Warner School’s doctoral program to pursue her passion for learning more about literacy education and to contribute to the practices of the field through her research in early digital literacy practices with a focus on environmental print. She continues to work with students of all ages to better understand the progressing nature of literacy in the current social context.
