Introduces teachers to key issues in the teaching and learning of a second language (foreign language or ESOL) in grades K-12 as well as in other contexts. Builds on research and theory in the fields of learning, teaching, curriculum, and second language education more specifically. Addresses issues about teaching other languages in schools. Includes topics such as literacy, assessment, and technology. (Meets content-pedagogy requirement for professional teaching certification).
