EDE424 Simulations in Health Professions Education: From Design to Practice

This course is for healthcare professionals and educators interested in learning medical simulation teaching methods and techniques, with the ultimate goal of improving patient safety, increasing communication effectiveness, refining teamwork, and enhancing care delivery through medical simulation. Students will learn the range of experiences and key concepts available for learning in the simulated environment, the role of medical simulation as a valuable tool for inter-professional education, and medical system testing and error detection. Through this course, students will have an opportunity to participate in hands-on simulations as well as apply research-based teaching strategies for designing simulation trainings and develop their debriefing skills.
