EDE420 Introduction to Video Production for Educational Research

Designed for teachers, researchers, and community members who are interested in producing videos as an effective way to disseminate their research findings to specific audiences and/or enhance their courses. Oriented toward basic video production concepts, this four-week hybrid course focuses on techniques in lighting, framing, audio, storyboarding, event coverage, documentary, and interviewing in field and studio production. This course also touches on media literacy and post-production. Students actively participate in filming, posting, and reviewing video projects online synchronously via Zoom and asynchronously in discussion boards. The class will also meet face-to-face for hands-on work with equipment in the studio.
