EDE419A Topics in Foundations of Psychopharmacology and Biological Determinants of Mental Health

Provides an overview of the biological mechanisms implicated in mind-body related mental health issues. Topics covered include: psychoneuroimmunology, epigenetics, the gut-brain axis, neuroplasticity, and receptor responses to trauma and chronic stress. This seven-week course aims to guide students to integrate course materials to gain an understanding of the interdependency of body systems in mental health and disorder.
